EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
EFT — meridian tapping
Tapping specific acupressure points while addressing an emotional issue. Quick, often surprisingly effective.
Does this feel familiar?
You have a specific emotional spike — a fear before a presentation, an anger that won't leave, a grief that surfaces at random times. EFT is a self-administered technique you can do anywhere — tap nine specific meridian points while saying a setup phrase. Effects are often within minutes.
What it is, how it works
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) was developed by Gary Craig in the 1990s, drawing on traditional Chinese medicine meridian theory. The technique: identify a specific emotional issue, rate its intensity 0-10, tap nine acupressure points in sequence while reciting a setup phrase, re-rate intensity. Most issues drop 4-6 points in one round.
