KP System uses the same astronomical chart as classical Vedic but interprets it via Placidus houses + the unique Krishnamurti ayanamsa + the sub-lord theory: each nakshatra has a star-lord, sub-lord, and sub-sub-lord, derived from the Vimshottari proportional weighting. The sub-lord of any house cusp determines what that house actually delivers.
